About Annapolis

Annapolis is the state capital of Maryland and is part of the greater Baltimore-Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. The Annapolis Marina is located right off Chesapeake Bay. One of the more notable neighborhoods in the city is the Dowtown area which is home to the historic district that is famous for its concentration of original colonial-style houses and grand public buildings. Apart from history and the absorbing waterfront, the city is a good base from which to explore the small towns across Chesapeake Bay on the Eastern Shore, by way of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Annapolis is 26 miles south of Baltimore and 22 miles east of Washington.
